Is it possible to hang someone in red dead redemption
No benefit really, but looks tight. This is done by lifting them up, carrying them to the back of your horse and holding down the Square button PS4 or X button Xbox One. The rope can be thrown at people or animals with the R2 button, and if they are successfully hit with it, they will than be snared by the Lasso.
I think a lot of companies just ignore it because they understand the differences between reality and fantasy. It isn't something I would personally do in the game even if it was an option but just because some people may not like it doesn't mean they have to avoid it. If it is part of the story they would be kind of screwed either way though lol. I'm not bothered by it being in the game. I think it would be fitting and you best believe it is something I would play around with.
I know the game is fake and the story isn't real but the realism and realistic aspects of it and the time it was set in are the reasons I enjoy playing games like this. Not everything is sunshine and rainbows.

Alternatively, drag someone up onto the bridge while they are lassoed and kick them off well, you can't kick them.
I mean walk on top of them to make them fall off. There is a hanging animation and everything. User Info: dsb dsb 11 years ago 2 Really? Ideally, they should be close to the area you have picked so that by the time you reach it, they haven't been dragged so far that they die. Alternatively, if you are using the bridge to Tumbleweed, you merely have to wait for a victim to pass by underneath.
Lasso your target and take them to the hanging spot. With your previous practice, this should be easy. Now it is a matter of dragging the victim to the hanging spot, making sure not to accidentally let go of the rope before you reach it.
Try not to go through too dense a bush, as it will kill your victim faster before you reach your destination. If you are using the Tumbleweed bridge or similar, again, you will not have to move far, or even be on your horse to lasso and hang the target; you can simply lasso and enjoy.
Drop your victim over the edge of the cliff, ledge or bridge you are on. This can be done by riding diagonally at the cliff or similar, and then turning and riding parallel to it. Your victim should swing off the cliff, and if you come to stop, they should be hanging in mid-air off the ledge. Make sure to keep the rope held firmly. This step can be skipped if you are using the Tumbleweed bridge method, as they will already be hanging as soon as you lasso them if you lasso them as they pass underneath.
Admire your handiwork. Whether you're bringing an outlaw to justice, or doing dastardly deeds, the outcome should be that the victim will struggle for a while on the lasso before the rope either breaks or they collapse, dead. Go to new game. It should be by the pause menu. Or create a new profile for games you'd like to finish again without losing the progress of the one you previously finished.

Raging Destroyer. No, there is no way to save John Marston because he was outnumbered and he had a pistol against rifles and shotguns.
